In 1983, François Mitterrand launched the largest architectural competition in history. His goal: to erect a new monument in Paris and make it the hallmark of his presidency. To everyone's surprise, the winner was a complete unknown—Johan Otto von Spreckelsen, an architecture professor from Copenhagen who suddenly found himself in the spotlight. The film explores the protagonist's psychology and the challenges facing his project, addressing complex themes such as professional ethics and the clash between idealism and political power.
