Jack Torrance moves with his wife and seven-year-old son to the impressive Overlook Hotel in Colorado to oversee facility maintenance during the winter season—a time when the hotel is closed and cut off by snow. His goal is to find the peace and quiet needed to write a novel. However, shortly after their arrival, strange and terrifying paranormal phenomena begin to occur, coinciding with Jack’s descent into disturbing personality changes.
