Frank and his apprentice Freddy are finishing their shift at a medical supply warehouse. While chatting, Frank tells the young man that the events depicted in the movie *Night of the Living Dead* were real but had been covered up by the authorities. To prove he isn't lying, he takes the boy to the basement and shows him a barrel containing one of the zombies, along with the gas that originally brought it back to life. They accidentally open the barrel, releasing both the living dead and the gas, which drifts into a nearby cemetery. Unbeknownst to them, a group of young people spending the night in the cemetery are about to witness the awakening of the dead.
