Based on true events in post-war France, the film tells the story of Jan Bojarski, a Polish refugee who made headlines by becoming the most ingenious counterfeiter of his time. For years, Bojarski produced banknotes so perfect they fooled the Bank of France itself. His work caught the attention of Inspector Mattei, and what began as a closely guarded secret turned into an obsessive pursuit. The story immerses the viewer in the fascinating craftsmanship of a true counterfeiting artist who led a dangerous double life, with personal consequences.
