Contratiempo is the third feature film by Tijuan filmmaker José Conngel Paredes, which focuses his plot on a musical band with intentions of regrouping after many years disbanded. The story follows in the footsteps of Dexter (Rod Zapien), the drummer of the divorced group who has a young daughter, guitarist Alex (Paco Mufote), bassist Charlie (Adolfo Madera) and lead singer of Yareh (Linda Owlen). In this latest film Paredes evokes the Tijuan music scene of the 90's with the most representative bands of that time, also the city of Tijuana acquires the status of one more character in history.
