When a refrigerator appears out of nowhere in the nearly abandoned town of La Raya, 11-year-old Sotera Santos and her friend Erick try to sell it and make a killing. However, the fridge soon begins to reveal mysterious things to those who approach it. Meanwhile, Sotera will have to face the reality that her mother may not return to take her to the United States, and that perhaps it's not yet time to leave La Raya.
