Synopsis: On This Side of the Son is a performance that takes a traditional Mexican folk festival and transforms it through the experiences of the LGBTQI+ community. As the performance unfolds, roles shift, couples reinvent themselves, and bodies move with greater freedom. The work makes visible that other ways of experiencing folklore have always existed, even if they haven't always been shown.
