36th Nuevo León State Theater Encounter presents: HATUN MAMA
In the 1990s, thousands of indigenous women in Peru were subjected to forced sterilizations under a state policy that violated their rights and marked their lives forever. Hatun Mama addresses this historical wound through Quilla, a teenager who dreams of being a mother and who arrives at a health center unaware that she will be deceived. Hatun Mama is a poetic and political journey about the body as territory, stolen motherhood, and the resistance of those who fight to reclaim their dignity and their history.
