During the summer of 1961, Emil began working as an extra at the famous Babelsberg film studios. During the set of a superproduction, he falls in love with the French dancer named Milou. When he finally conquers Milou, filming is suddenly cancelled and they are forced to separate as The Berlin Wall is lifted in August of that year. Years later, Emil will outline a daring and risky plan to get filming to continue and reunite with Milou.
