Adam. Women in Casablanca
Maryam Touzani | Morocco | 2019 | 98'
Synopsis:
Abla runs a humble pastry shop in her own house in Casablanca, where she lives alone with Warda, her 8-year-old daughter. Her routine, dictated by work and housework, is interrupted one day when someone knocks on her door. It is about Samia, a young pregnant woman who is looking for a job and a roof over her head. Little Ella is attracted to her newcomer from the start, but her mother is initially opposed to welcoming her stranger into her home. Little by little, however, Abla's determination gives way and the arrival of Samia opens up the possibility of a new life for the three of them.
