Description
The band formed in Buenos Aires in 2004 has a very peculiar style since it is characterized by its mix of multiple genres such as funk, jazz, candombe, rock, bossa nova, tango, reggae, among other styles. In addition to integrating comedy and freestyle in his lyrics. This project is made up of the actor and screenwriter Julián Kartún (voice), Santiago Martínez (voice and keyboards), Juan Martín Mojoli (bass), Nicolás Morone (guitar), Pablo Vidal (saxophone) and Tomás Baillie (drums).
El Kuelgue has released five full-length albums where they have conquered audiences around the world. Thanks to its peculiar sound, the band opened Paul McCartney's concert in May 2016, at the Estadio Único de La Plata.
Their latest material, Cuentito, was published in 2021 and is a collage of sounds and genres that they themselves define as "a story that goes to different places". There are eight songs, eight different stories; as if each one were a different piece of cloth that together, they give shape and life to this album recorded in Estudio 0681 between November 2020 and August 2021.
