Caña Dulce y Caña Brava is a traditional son jarocho group that offers an innovative perspective, being composed predominantly of women. With a deep connection to tradition, the group sings poetic messages from a feminine perspective, offering a unique performance within a scene traditionally dominated by men. Thanks to their dedication, innovation, and perseverance, the group has established itself as a benchmark for son jarocho, bringing innovation to traditional Mexican music.
The unique sound of Caña Dulce y Caña Brava combines the poetry and harmony of their voices, the rhythmic tapping and vibrations of the donkey jawbone, the mystical harmony of the harp, and the strumming of the jaranas, illuminated by the colorful movement emanating from their dresses. The musical virtuosity of its members is deeply rooted in the Jarocho tradition, given that they have all learned directly from ancient masters and demonstrated their skills on both national and international stages.
