They say that the dog is man's best friend, but what if the man is a complete jerk? In that case, it might be time for a sweet rematch, doggy style. When Reggie (Ricardo O'Farrill), a naive and optimistic Border Terrier is abandoned on the city streets by his humble owner, Doug (Will Forte; The Last Man on Earth, Nebraska), Reggie was sure his beloved owner I would never leave it on purpose. But when Reggie meets a talkative, foul-mouthed Boston Terrier named Bug (Carlos Ballarta), a mutt who loves his freedom and believes that ownership is for losers, Reggie realizes she was in a toxic relationship and begins to see Doug as the ruthless scoundrel that he is. Determined to seek revenge, Reggie, Bug and Bug's friends Maggie (Michelle Rodriguez), a smart Australian Shepherd who has been displaced by her owner's new puppy, and Hunter, an anxious Great Dane stressed by his job as a pet. Emotional Support; Together they hatch a plan and embark on an epic adventure to help Reggie find his way home...and make Doug pay by biting into the appendix he loves most. (Hint: it's not his foot.)
