Overall, Acapulco's combination of natural beauty, convenient location, and luxurious amenities made it an attractive destination for tourists and celebrities.
There have been several periods of time when Acapulco was considered dangerous to visit. In the mid-2000s, the city saw a sharp increase in violence related to the drug trade, which led to a decrease in tourism. In 2012, the U.S. State Department issued a travel warning and urged U.S. citizens to avoid non-essential travel to the city.
Since then, the security situation in Acapulco has improved tremendously in tourist areas with cameras and police and travel warnings have been lifted in recent years but people are still sleeping on this beautiful city! So I am here to wake ya’ll up!
