3er. UNAG 2026 Open Water Circuit Event: Samuel “Sammy” Gutiérrez Solis Marathon 2026
Location: Santa Lucía Bay, Acapulco, beach area of El Amigo Miguel III Restaurant (Av. Costera Miguel Alemán s/n, Col. Hornos, CP 39355).
Date: Sunday, August 2, 2026
Distances: 1.25K, 2.5K, and 5K

CATEGORY WILL BE DETERMINED BY EACH PARTICIPANT'S AGE AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2026.
For the 55 and over category, this may be divided into 5-year age groups if there is a minimum of 5 participants per age group. by gender. Otherwise, it will remain as stated in the call for entries.
Only the 8 and under category will be eligible to swim with fins and receive prizes. If any swimmer from another category uses any equipment and/or participates in a distance different from the one corresponding to their category, they will not be eligible for prizes or points; however, they will receive a participation medal upon completion of the event in which they participate.
The UNAG 2026 Open Water Circuit will include the 13 and over category (beginners only) for the 1.25K distance. Participation in this distance will be limited to athletes venturing into open water for the first time. These swimmers will be eligible for prizes and points like the other categories in the circuit, provided they do not use any equipment (fins, paddles, floats, etc.). If they do use equipment, they will only receive a participation medal upon completion of the distance.
Medals will be awarded to all swimmers who complete their course, as well as certificates of recognition. Those who place in the top 3 in each category, distance, and gender will receive points.
Points will be awarded to participants who finish within the top 8 in each category of this event. These points will be used to determine the individual champions by category and gender, as well as the team champions, at the end of the UNAG 2026 Open Water Circuit.
